Born with a passion for the great outdoors and touched with passion of the old west comes our new fixed blade hunting/utility knife The Emmett. Released just in time for fall hunting it will prove to be your most trusted hunting companion ready for any tasks put before it. The pedigree for The Emmett comes from the popular FXM but as those familiar with the FXM will note that he is a completely different character. The stout .165” thick blade of CPM20CV starts at the handle in a wide 1.25” perfect for that slicing grind angle. The blade shape is a long “Bowie” style clip with a extra concave thumb rest set in the perfect spot for those hard push cuts. The clip point style front end allows for those fine cuts utilizing the nimble tip of the blade. The handle follows the style of the iconic XM-18 series of folders with its very ergonomic profile that begs this knife to be used for long periods of time. With the addition to the Emmett line we added contoured handles that fill out your grip comfortably while adding eye popping appeal. And finally finishing off the grip is perfectly situated fine thumb jimping ensuring a solid grip while using the knife in a fencing grip. For the sheath we again went to our friend David Brown at Buy Brown sheaths for his quality kydex sheaths! For the Vintage Series Emmett we again chose Woodland Harness for a exceptional leather sheath. The Emmett is that knife and hunting companion that is worthy of handing down through generations of outdoor enthusiasts!
A very special part of the production line of knives here at Rick Hinderer Knives is the line that I call The Reserve Line. As in a lot of other industries such as the fine bourbon world, The word “Reserve” is reserved for the very special limited parts of a product line. What I have done to incorporate this into the RHK production line is to separate a few knives from each production run and those knives I build and finish each myself. I build them in my own separate shop here at the Ranch. These knives will also have my build card in the box showing me as the builder. Also the box will be labeled signifying the Reserve status. This is a perfect way for those desiring a RHK production knife built by Rick Hinderer.
