Fresh on the heels of the success of the Ranch series Bowie comes the new Ranch Harpoon Spanto. All of the features that you liked with the Bowie, is the same with the Harpoon Spanto with the exception of the new Harpoon Spanto blade style. This blade style started with the XM-18 as a multipurpose heavy-duty workhorse and its no different with the Ranch series. The Spanto style grind is very versatile in that it allows for a “slicing” style of blade but with a heavier “armored” tip. The “harpoon” style of top line gives it that bad ass type of look while giving a bit more meat to the blade. The blade is made of CPM 3V and then DLC coated and finished in a Battle Black type working finish. The handle is made of Micarta in various colors and textures contoured for a comfortable sure grip. The sheath is a heavy duty leather sheath handmade by local Amish craftsmen. It uses heavy stitching with reinforcing grommets at the throat.
The new Ranch Harpoon Spanto is a great looking workhorse of a knife that you will be proud to carry on your belt and then hand down through the family!
A very special part of the production line of knives here at Rick Hinderer Knives is the line that I call The Reserve Line. As in a lot of other industries such as the fine bourbon world, The word “Reserve” is reserved for the very special limited parts of a product line. What I have done to incorporate this into the RHK production line is to separate a few knives from each production run and those knives I build and finish each myself. I build them in my own separate shop here at the Ranch. These knives will also have my build card in the box showing me as the builder. Also the box will be labeled signifying the Reserve status. This is a perfect way for those desiring a RHK production knife built by Rick Hinderer.
